Preserving Scottish Heritage

For Future Generations

Heritage… Tradition… Fellowship…

The Scottish Society of Mobile was founded in 1987 with the purpose of preserving and promoting the culture, history and traditions of Scotland and the Scottish people. The goals of the Scottish Society of Mobile are accomplished by educational and cultural programs, and participation in such events as Scottish Highland Games, Robert Burns Night Dinners, Tartan Day Festivals, St. Andrew’s Day Dinners, Kirk’n o’ the Tartan Services, Scotch Tastings, Scottish Heritage Month, and the Mobile International Festival. The Scottish Society of Mobile is a family orientated organization welcoming kids of all ages to join in the fun of the Highlands.

Meetings feature activities that provide a better understanding of our common Scottish heritage and history with the expressed mission to pass this knowledge on to future generations. Qualifications for membership are a Scottish lineage by descendent, marriage, or a sincere interest in Scottish heritage and traditions with a desire to further the knowledge of this heritage.

Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month (2nd Thursday in November) at the Tillman’s Corner Community Center, Room A, 5055 Carol Plantation Road, Mobile, AL 36619.

Annual family membership is only $25.00.
